Topics of Day – 2: · Numerical Description, Central Tendency, Dispersion, Standardized Data · Logic of Hypothesis Testing, Testing a Proportion · Comparing Two Proportions, Overview of ANOVA, Two-Factor ANOVA without Replication · Visual Displays and Correlation Analysis, Bi-variate Regression, Regression Terminology The workshop began with the inaugural speech of Prof. Nigam Dave, Director of SLS and Dr. Anurag Srivastava from the Department of Social Sciences. Dr. Supriya Pal and Mr. Sandeep Pathak shared a few words of encouragement. The workshop coordinators gave importance of utilizing MS Excel in research. Mr. Pathak highlighted on the awareness generation of existing research database, journals and resources available with the school and library for efficient utilization. The workshop received an enthusiastic response as the participants included undergraduate and postgraduate students of SLS along with the Engineering students of PDPU. The workshop ended with question-answer session between the instructor along with the students. A vote of thanks was given by Dr. Anurag Srivastava and Dr. Supriya Pal. Mr. Pathak, from SLS Library & Information Centre felicitating Dr. Vijay Jariwala at the end of the programme. 17
