ART HUB PRODUCTIONS
Filming their way through lockdown
Art Hub Productions is a Cape Town based Visual Arts team , who create full video productions “ from concept to delivery ”. From lyric and music videos , to full scale corporate video advertising , they have been taking the youthful South African art scene by storm . Even a global pandemic hasn ’ t slowed their passion and steady release of productions , the most recent of which was a showcase of the Lake Michelle Estate in Noordhoek .
The company is run by Samantha Howarth , originally from England , and Felix Koeble ( both pictured right ). Koeble is the Director of Art Hub and also runs their communications , whilst Howarth is the team ’ s Editor and Creative Director . Throughout the Pandemic , the two have been consistently creating work , and believe that their small leadership team has been a key factor .
“ With just two principal team members , we are perfectly suited for the new COVID regulations . Not only do we minimise people on set , but we reduce budget costs by being an efficient unit .” Generally running productions with this base team the creative duo work effectively in their shared conceptualizing . However , Koeble and Howarth are also prepped and ready for larger scale productions even now , with “ an excellent roster of freelancers that we work with to tackle any project ’ s needs ”.
As a fresh , young team , Art Hub pride themselves on creating high quality content with low cost margins . “ We ’ re keen to take on any project , for a lower cost than other agencies . We ’ re hard working and always go the extra mile to prove ourselves ”.
Art Hub have been “ trying to produce as much content as [ they ] can over the COVID 19 period ” including some impressive projects like their ‘ Sounds of ’ series , in which recorded sounds from places such as Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens or the home Koeble and Howarth share with some fellow creatives , are used to create a song . “ In that episode , we were banished into our own home as the Corona Virus plagued the earth ”. The lyrics are comedic , a key aspect of the Art Hub style , as they “ utilise a comedic element to grip the viewer and maintain a positive connection .” The intimate nature of this video particularly speaks to their fans , especially during these strange times .
The last year has required wearing masks on set , social distanced shoots and virtual client meetings and briefs but none of this has stood in their way . Their audiences are far reaching , and have only become more so during Covid , an impressive feat , to be apart physically but joined through art ., shared passions , and the dedication the duo have to creating .
This brilliantly creative team are sure to be
