Letter rom the Editor
Dear Readers,
The November Issue is "perhaps" the last issue you will get for this year. No, the magazine
is not folding, God forbid. As some of you may not know, my company, Merryquant
Agency, is composed of three segments: the advertising photography, the model agency
and the magazine. It is becoming more and more difficult to cope with the volume of work
if the magazine continues on a monthly issue. Unfortunately, I have no big staff like New
York Times' or L'Osservatore Romano. Therefore, starting January, Sleeves Magazine will
be issued every two months. Hope this is not a heartbreaking news for the thousands of
likers, if not readers, we have on Facebook and Instagram. Not to worry, some "Update
News" will be added in every bi-monthly issue so there is really no reason to think that we
are neglecting you while waiting for the next issue to be published. Would that be fair
enough?
Now to the current issue. I am proud to have Jakob Loiper to be our Cover Boy for this
month. He has been with our model agency for awhile and working together with him is
always a pleasure. Don't miss the interview with him on "How To Approach A Girl". He is the
fourth model who has taken the risk to be funny so as to entertain our readers. But as
always, this magazine is here to provide fun.
For those who have not heard of Kevin André, he is the promising R&B Soul Artist from
Munich. I do wish him the best of luck in his career as a singer/composer. I won't be
surprised if one day he gets a Grammy.
Thanks to the British Fashion Council, Design Hotels and Acne Studios for providing me
the materials for this issue. They have always been part of our work. Special mention to
the designer "Sewing Boundaries" from Korea whom we are also showcasing this
month. I always make sure Asian Designers do get featured in Sleeves Magazine as a sign
of solidarity. I come from Asia, too.
So folks, enjoy reading! And please do send us your comments.
Cheers,
Joel
Jose Emilio (Joel) de Veyra
