"I’m interested in how groups of kids mirror each other's look and wear certain items for a sense of belonging. When we put these looks together, I wanted to explore that short period where there's that tension between individuality and the group dynamic." — Jonny Johansson, Creative Director. Autumn Winter 2016 Text: Acne Studios A long-sleeve dress of beige boucle pinstripe is slashed and twisted at the hip, as if turned inside out. It joins a group of pieces in beige, such as utilitarian trousers and shearling coats. Various shades of sot double faced blankets are stitched together with raw edges for double breasted coats, while other blanket coats have been twisted and folded over the shoulder. Their sotness is contrasted with pants in body-con metallic leather. Band T-shirts are subverted with portraits of the back of punk heads, rendered in acid shades. These are worn with pieces such as high waisted and fitted pants that flare slightly from the knee, or masculine oversized coats. Plaids are contrasted and clashed in a variety of colours and textures. Traditional colourings are put against special woven plaids in vivid shades for a series of coats, dresses and pants. Oten the plaids have been brushed for extra sotness, and many of the pieces over painted in white with an extra layer of check. The effect of fire is created in a print of torn paper on velvet and satin slip dresses worn over sweaters, while raw edged embroideries of flames are beaded behind to catch the light and give body. Leather sandals are worn with socks, while biker belts and rounded boho bags complete the look. Sleeves Magazine
