What drove you to compose music? I would say that I‘m a person who thinks a lot about life: future, love, friendship. The more I think about it, the more questions are coming up... It‘s like a vicious circle that drives me crazy. Composing helps me to get a clear understanding and to write down my thoughts. It is sort of a therapy. Gabriel Finds Music The Best Therapy How old were you when you discovered your love for music? I started to play the piano when I was six, but I didn‘t really like it at first. I started to love music as I grew older. At the age of 13, I started to play the guitar and sing. Tell me more about the story of your past band (The Charles), how it began creating a new group of your own? I was 14 when I started dreaming of creating a band. I asked my two close friends if they wanted to join me and so they did. The problem was that both of them weren‘t able to play the drums or bass but they became part of the group just the same. We called ourselves „The Morning After“. It was a beautiful time back then and we played a lot of concerts in Munich. After two years we had the possibility to play at „Rock Im Park“, but we had to change our band's name „Morning After" Photo: Jose Emilio de Veyra because this name has been existing even before. The new name „The Charles“ was born and we got to play at festivals. It was a good rock band and it gave me an awesome youth. After finishing school I had to decide between music and a life at the university and hopefully find a good job in the future. I found it very hard to decide so I went to the army to think about everything. After two weeks in the army my own band threw me out because they found a singer who would have more time for them.
