Letter from the Editor

Dear Readers,
Sleeves Magazine starts the New Year with Samuel Rassy as our first Cover Boy for this year. A new face on Merryquant ' s roster of models, Sam just barely started and was already offered a contract by a big known agency in Milan( the agency ' s name will be disclosed later). He is expected to arrive there on the first week of January in preparation for the castings for the Men ' s Fashion Week. He could not believe he was a model material. I told him: " When you look at the male models you see on magazines like Vogue Hommes or on the runway shows like Versace or Dolce & Gabbana, you look similar to them. He smiled. And I added: " You talk like one, you move like one, you walk like one! You are the right one for high end fashion!"
I have learned in the business of fashion modeling to instill in the minds of the models, especially those who get the opportunity( of being further represented by another international agency), to think like a businessman. Being beautiful or handsome is not enough. You have to be ready to overcome obstacles and have the willingness to succeed. In other words, the right discipline. Ignore what is trivial, appreciate people who support you( even if they become unbearable sometimes) and value what is important to your career. This is my advice to Sam and Merryquant wishes him all the best.
Now for the Fashion Awards 2016 Highlights which I have featured in this issue, thanks to the British Fashion Council for providing me the materials. These will make the magazine all the more exciting as I have included some photos from the event. For our Travel Insight section, I have for you the beautiful Straf Hotel in Milan. And for our " Recognition Award " section to best Instagrammers, effective today, we do not call it the " Most Stylish " but the " Coolest Man " on Instagram.
May the year 2017 bring you all the best of luck!
Cheers, Joel
