each and every one contributes materially to his chance of survival. Each has its own past, present, and future. The wearer needs the layers, and each and every one contributes materially to his chance of survival. In stripping away our sense of time, of what is on-trend today, in favour of a collection inspired by an imagined tomorrow, Boris Bidjan Saberi has created an intense sense of need in his collection. Not of desire, but of actual physical requirement. It’s a startling achievement, and one which is further accentuated by accessories; huge utilitarian rucksacks, simple bold headpieces, gauntlet-style fingerless gloves, even masks which evoke genuine armourplating. The entire collection is calculated to create a sense that you not only want these garments but you’d jolly well better have them if you’re to survive the forthcoming apocalypse.
