Narcolepsy is a sleep disorder characterized by uncontrollable sleep attacks. A person may directly enter into REM sleep at random times.
Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder in which a person may temporarily stop breathing while sleeping and also may repeatedly wake up to take a breath.
Night terrors are a sleep disorder in which a person is highly aroused and appears terrified. Night terrors can occur during NREM-3 sleep, about 2 to 3 hours after falling asleep, and they are usually not remembered.
