Michael Hicks 1927—2016
As the 2017 magazine is being put together it is with great sadness that the death of Michael Hicks is announced. He passed away peacefully
in Grantham Hospital following a short illness. He was in his ninetieth year. One of his claim to fame was that at the end of the Second World
War he had played cricket for the RAF in Egypt. Mike, as he liked to be called, served on the main committee as a general member, his main
role in the club being umpiring. He officiated at all levels in the club. In latter years he was regular spectator (and commentator!) usually at the
tractor shed end of the ground. He will be sadly missed by players, ex players and friends alike.
