invest in facilities both on and off the field. We hope to improve the
standard of our facilities in 2016 and beyond and also to continue to
provide a comprehensive junior coaching programme which our New
Zealand international batsman Tim McIntosh has participated in over
the last three seasons. This year, Tim is being replaced by a record
breaking South African all- rounder Obus Pienaar, who should make
an exciting acquisition for the club. All of our aspirations do of course
carry a price tag.
In recent years, generous financial input from a number of people has
allowed us to recruit professionals of the highest calibre, notably Tim
McIntosh. James Arnold of Sleaford Quality Foods, Trevor Cope of
Trevor Cope Seeds, Mark Broughton of Sleafordian Coaches, Michael
Brown, Mick Hutson, John and Matthew Mountain and Barry Poston
have provided important contributions whilst Raymond and Nick
Padley of Adrian Padley Motors have supplied a sponsored vehicle.
Our Saturday South Lincs. & Border League team also have a new
sponsor, Darren Wilson, who has been extremely enthusiastic in his
wish to support this team; the club is extremely grateful to Darren for
his generosity.

from their own sponsors who are acknowledged in reports later in the
magazine. We do currently have an opportunity for the sponsorship
of one of our five junior teams (£250.)
The Sleaford Academy side will once again carry the colours of
Turnbull’s Builders Merchants as Chris Hopkins and his fellow
directors continue to demonstrate their long standing commitment
to the club.
I am delighted that Four Seasons Garden Centre will continue to
sponsor the important Stephen Bradford Memorial Trophy which
continues to be a fitting tribute to one of our favourite sons.
We do have a number of other sponsorship possibilities such as
match ball sponsorship (£25), perimeter advertising boards (annual
site rental from £100 dependent on size), whilst it is our intention to
seek headline sponsors for the fixtures that we stage for Lincolnshire
County Cricket Club on an annual basis. There is also the opportunity
to sponsor our annual golf day. In return for sponsorship we can offer
a range of benefits tailored to the individual needs of our commercial
partners and the packages that we provide for our principal sponsors
are all individually negotiated.
For the last five years, Sleaford Cricket Club’s ECB Premier League
side has been sponsored by Wright Vigar and we are extremely
grateful to James Sewell and his team for the generous support that
they have provided. This year, the club’s flagship team will have new
sponsors in the form of Baker Plant Hire and Reg Baker’s generosity
will hopefully ensure that we will once again be challenging for
Premier League honours during the forthcoming Summer. That
It is also our intention to create a Vice Presidents Club with an annual
membership fee of between £30 and £50 payable by direct debit and
we hope to attract 100 members to this category.
