The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.
Sun Tzu
Only Donald Trump can defeat Donald Trump? Aikido
him.
Some in mass media state that “Only Trump can defeat Trump” and, in
part, they are right. So far, operatives were not able to defeat Trump in
head-to-head fight: so far he is right saying that “after they attacked me,
they all went down”. You can’t get Donald with gotcha question or business as usual Megan Kelly’s type trickery, unless you are a billionaire, experienced negotiator and a showman.
Trump is a serious force and not many people are ‘bigger’ than him at
what he does: so one need to use Trump’s own power
against him. For now, let’s assume that ‘only Trump can
defeat Trump’ and it is dangerous to attack him, so here is
one of possible solutions to ‘the counterpuncher’: Aikido
him in ‘the land’ of opposites.
One doesn’t have to attack Trump, but ‘join’ him and redirect his campaign into a ditch or where id doesn’t want to
go, using Aikido principles and opposites: get out of the
way, blend, redirect into submission.
Little theory:
Never disrespect or underestimate the deal maker’s experience, but everything has two sides, opposites:
1. The bigger the front, the bigger the back,
2. Nothing can be created without destruction,
3. If one has a mouth, there is an asshole somewhere too.
Keep in mind that to see an opposite is not as easy as people usually assume. For example, all know that opposite or right is left, but what is an
opposite of a screwdriver or time? Or what is apposite of opposites? It
takes time and training to see opposites, but there is a FACT rule
(Functions, Analogies, Conditions, Things): every person or object is a
‘thing’ with functions, analogies and conditions. For example:
1. Man and woman, left and right, up and down (opposite things)
2. Tall and short, expensive and cheap, ugly and beautiful (opposite
conditions)
3. Movement and stillness, loud and quiet, sound and silence
(opposite functions)
4. Flying, walking, crawling are analogies of a movement
(analogies).
Here are three principles one must use:
Everything which brought to its extreme, turns into its opposite,
Everything expands and contract,
Opposite attract and the same repeal.
In practice:
For example: Trump wants to build a wall. OK, support him in making the
best wall there is, the “Trump Wall”, as he stated. Blast it everywhere “The Trump Wall”, but first ask yourself a question: what are negatives
about a wall and what is its opposite?
There is/was Berlin Wall, Iron/USSR Wall, Chinese Wall, and or Gaza
Wall. See? Also, a Wall by itself is not the best image. Usually, people get
shot against walls, dead end associated with a wall, or jails have walls, so
one can start remote negative associations with “The Trump Wall”. Next
thing you know, the image would not be as good anymore, with a label
that Trump is a ‘wall’s man’ or a ‘man of walls’ or ‘as hard as a wall’.
For example, you place a piece of news about Trump’s Wall, and, right
after that or at the end a historic piece about war prisoners shot against
6
wall, or a piece about how pregnant mothers live behind walls in jails. So,
you are not attacking Trump’s Wall, not directly anyway. And if he picks
up on it and respond; therefore, creating much needed in Aikido
‘movement’, it is even better – just amplify it a little, by associating his
displeasure with what people think is negative about walls, associating
Trump further with all kind of walls, as walls’ expert.
“The Trump Wall” could become his unofficial image and his ‘signature’
tool for everything whereas it is foreign, financial, social policies. One can
ask questions like:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
How many job you think building of walls could bring, or
How many jobs maintenance of Trump’s wall would create, or
How would you wall people off from financial troubles, or
How could you wall off the U.S. economy from competition, or
Why do you think wall of tariff would protect jobs?
When one reports on his answers, one can use something like:
1. If you need a wall of tariffs – Trump is your man, or
2. If you have a problem, just wall it up the Trump’s way, or
3. Trump’s skills of negotiations can wall up just about any one –
there is no escape, or
4. America could be walled up from the world with wall of tariffs,
and or
5. Trump will make a hole in his walls in order to let foreign accounts
money in: one way hole in the wall!.
Next thing you know one may justifiably say ”Trump it up – build a wall”
or even “Trump will cement his policies with a wall”: just don’t overdo it,
keep in within content and respectful. Further, Trump could become a
‘man ma de of bricks’ with bricks everything: new fashion is to wear a
small brick on your neck, brick earring, brick purse. Further, Trump said
that he has a big heart, so heart made of brick could be associated with
him, see?
Bottom line is to bring ‘The Trump Wall” to its extreme, so people will
get sick of the ‘wall solutions’ and, consequently, a man associated with it.
When it comes with Jeb bush’s ‘low energy’ label, it could be redirected
as wrong impression of efficient, thoughtful and restrained man, whom
should not be confused with someone high on pills or moocher: here
again, seek and use opposite.
One could do it with every issue, policy or problems to keep the fight and,
consequently, keep a movement going, in order to redirect it where it
doesn’t intended to go.
But one more time: I would caution against overdoing it because it could
backfire, turning into an opposite effect, redirecting could help if it starts.
According to Trump, he is counterpunch man, but one can’t counterpunch
in Aikido. It is not a brutal sport, so no one can accuse you in aggression
against Trump. That’s the beauty of Aikido: ‘killing you softly’ with clarifications. One of ‘most famous’ Aikido artist is Steven Segal, but, some
say, he deviates from principles into brutality.
A ‘challenge’ in Aikido is that it cannot attack first, but it is solvable solution with a simple provocation for a movement, not an attack: you can
start with a clarification of one’s policy, like “Mr. Trump, please clarify
what you mean by saying …”.
Keep in mind that Trump could employ ‘Aikido tool and opposites’ as
well. It is very wise of him that he only counterpunches, so he is a tiny
step away from using Aikido against his opponents.
Trump is sure smart man and could employ best minds, but everything has
an opposite and moves. For now, “only Trump could defeat Trump”
stands just as “only Americans could defeat America” stands.
