My Wellington Model United Na- tions ( WSACMUN ) Experience

Day 1 ( Friday , March 1 , 2024 )
I woke up , extremely drowsy from all the preparation for the conference from the day before , and rushed to Livingston school at 6:30 AM . On my car ride there , I kept practicing my opening speech by repeating it over and over . My dad asked , " did you eat your breakfast ?" But I ignored him . 20 minutes later , I arrived at the front gates of Livingston School and was greeted by my friends and teachers at 7:05 AM .
We were loaded onto the school bus , and headed towards Wellington College ; about 40 minutes away . Upon arrival , I was immediately impressed by the sheer scale of the entire school ; there were definitely more than two buildings , which were elaborately decorated with antique-colored bricks . The main entrance of building one was bombarded with " welcome delegate " signs and eager students from all over the city of Shanghai . One poster stood out the most " the one that depicts our main agenda for all conferences today- turning back the doomsday clock .
The SLAS MUNers quickly took a group photo in front of the poster and were ushered inside to join the others in the auditorium . The opening ceremony consisted of speeches from various personnel , with the most significant one being a worker from the World Bank . Deep and inspiring words were embedded deep within us , and then we were let loose to join our committee to begin the conference .
Because I was considering training my friend and teaching her through her first-ever MUN conference , I decided to attend General Assembly 1- the committee that allowed double-delegate teams . Together with my friend , we were the delegates of Ghana . Since General Assembly 1 had a rather easier and light-hearted topic than the other committees , it was suitable for my friend ,
