Graphic design is the study of using visual content to communicate with viewers more effectively . One difference between graphic design and traditional design is the existence of the “ undo ” button , which helps designers to make fewer mistakes and try new experiments without harming the initial design .
During semester one , graphic design classes analyzed four steps of the design cycle : researching , gaining knowledge , developing ideas , and evaluating . They also had projects about propaganda posters , typography , package design , and how to use the workflow ’ s design process .
The first main project was creating a design element poster . Students chose one element and expressed it in their unique way . Students learned deeply about the design processes during the layout period , such as using mood boards and idea boards , using functions and tools in Adobe Photoshop to create the poster aesthetically .
