Qualities of a True Friendship by Maggie Xue
What does it mean to be and have a good friend?
What is the purpose of having a friend? Kids continuously think about these questions and redefine their answers as they mature.
Students interviewed for this article, Sae, Jasmine, and Kei, stated that a real friend is someone you’ re comfortable with, who has your back.
SLAS alumna Jasmine Soriano, said that real friends help and support their friends. They will always be with their friend and help find a solution for any issues.“ Real friends are your friends for a reason,” she concluded.
Current student Kei Taichi, said“ Having a real friend is the best thing you can get in life. I believe that when you meet a real friend, he or she will be there for you for the rest of your life.”
Different people have different views on friendship and its qualities, subject to each person’ s background and previous experiences. A true friend is someone trustworthy, always by your side, especially in tough times.
