SLAS Volleyball players competed against Coaches at school because players weren ’ t allowed to play outside school due to coronavirus and order for all players and coaches in every school to be safe . Old coaches , including Ms . Samantha Shamoon , Mr . Alex Brown , and more joined the game . Additionally , new coaches Ms . Shandrea Thomas and Ms . Jamie Janssen joined , too .
Students and coaches practiced before the game and communicated well as a team . According to 11th-grader Maxon Sun Jin , they practiced and reminded each other to call for the ball .
11th-grader Martina Barona added her opinions about how she felt nervous yet excited about the game . “ We practiced as much as we could after school ,” she said .
The boys ’ team won twice against the coaches and were very happy about winning both games . The girls ’ team , however , lost .
Students report being sad that they cannot play against other schools , so it was fun to play against coaches .
