Taking Notes
GoodNotes 5 spent a lot of time providing the best note-taking environment for users . Critical tools such as pen , highlighter , eraser , and lasso are commonly used when taking notes . I can customize three pen colors on top , which are always available .

There are three types of pens in total : foundation pen , ball pen , and brush pen . I only use the ball pen because it has equal thicknesses and pressure settings , making it easier to recognize my handwriting . The foundation pen allows setting the tip ’ s sharpness and pressure sensitivity , and the brush pen also provides pressure sensitivity .

It is no exaggeration to say that the lasso tool is the core tool of GoodNotes . The lasso tool enables the selected objects to move around anywhere you want . I use it very often when my writings are not straight . For example , when misplacing words or phrases , it can quickly move the selected text to the right spot .
Storage and Sharing

GoodNotes 5 uses Apple ’ s iCloud to back up the notes . When exporting the files to collaborate with other devices , there are three ways : PDF , image , and GoodNotes form . Unfortunately , the app does not allow the nonusers
to view the collaboration link outside their platform . This also disturbs me when I forget to bring an iPad and am unable to view my notes .
