Middle School Soccer Season :
New coaches , new strategies , and a larger Team

The fall soccer season brings new coaches with new strategies and the largest team in the last five years . The first game for this season was on October 22 .
There are two new coaches this year : head coach Mr . Diego , and assistant coach Ms . Samantha .
The team has 17 players from grade six to grade eight .
SLAS will compete with a number of other international schools including SAS , BISS , SCIS , YCIS , SUIS , SSIS .

Head coach Mr . Diego said his main way of training the team is by letting them play tiki-taka ( a way of playing soccer with a lot of passes ). He believes practicing more passing and teamwork is how soccer should be played . He admires how well Barcelona plays tiki-taka , and wants the Wildcats to do the same .
Coach Ms . Samantha said the team is very spirited and enthusiastic . The team is mixed with experienced and non-experienced players , so some kids may not be used to teamwork .
Since the time of publishing the team has played three matches . They lost zero to one against BISS , however , they won 13 to one against SAS , and five to four against SSIS .
Most members of the middle school soccer team joined because they wanted to have fun and play soccer . They are not sure they will win every match , but they are not afraid of losing .
The team trains for an hour every Friday after school . Matches occur every Thursday .
