Trending Music at SLAS by Anthony Yates S LAS is not only a school, but also a com- munity. The students here bond and un- derstand each other in several different ways. One major way students bond is through lis- tening to music. Curious about what my peers are listening to these days, I surveyed a sample of students about their musical preferences. To my sur- prise, most of the students had a diverse taste in music. Popular genres on campus include radio pop, jazz, EDM, hip-hop, rock, J-pop and K-pop. Students seem to listen to music for the same purposes: to relax or to get pumped up. When researching trending music at SLAS, I expected there to be a similar pattern and genre of music that students were into, but to my surprise, it seems that students here have unique tastes. This uniqueness reflects the at- mosphere of diversity and community in our school.
