THE SLAS TALENT SHOW

School talent shows are always fun to participate in
school life. On the 24th of February, SLAS hosted a
talent show for students to show off their skills and
have fun. Many of the students at SLAS have hidden
talents that they have not had the opportunity to
share with their fellow peers, but a talent show is a
great opportunity for them to demonstrate their
skills under the spotlight. In order to participate in
the show, students had to audition to get in, and
they could be rewarded with a certificate and a
trophy. new ideas and acts to perform. At SLAS, students
need to attend an audition to perform in the actual
talent show; and this helps because it provides
character-building and team-building lessons
during try-outs. The talent show is also a great way

Shawn Lupori, a junior at Livingston American

the school talent show, “I participated because my
band class and I enjoy performing for the school, and
playing in front of a live audience is a great
experience to have.” He thought the judges were
helpful, saying, “They do help because they push you
to your best because you know you’ll get a score for
your performance.” Cathryn Jiang, a junior at Shanghai Livingston
American School who performed on the talent show
last year, commented on how she felt being in the
spotlight, “I don’t mind being in the spotlight, but if
I had the choice then I wouldn’t want to be.”
Every school should host a talent show for their
