Each person has his/her own opinion and why he/she chose this brand. This might help you choose if you’re wondering which shoes to buy. Shoes are popular because celebrities wear them, and make us want them. Jack Yuan a sophomore who attends SLAS said, “I buy Nike, Adidas, and Rick Owens mostly; however, I purchase Nike and Adidas in their shops while I order Rick Owens online from the states. I use Nike for sports and Adidas for fashion. I wear Rick Owens just because they look good in my opinion.” Jack’s top 3 choices of shoes are Jordan IV, Yeezy 350 V2, and Adidas Ultra boost. He also added, “I pick out my shoes by their designs. I judge then greatly by their color because I think color is a very important factor.” During ancient times, people used animals’ skins or furs wrapped around their feet as shoes. Today, shoes are mainly made from leather, wood, canvas, and high tech materials. Since each line of shoes has its own unique function, people all over the world nowadays buy all kinds of shoes that serve their specific interests. There are also people who collect, trade, or admire certain sneakers as a hobby, and these people are referred as sneaker head. The most commontypes of shoes are boots, athletic shoes, 12 dress & casual, unisex, dance, and orthopedic. On the other hand, the most famous shoes all over the world are Air Jordan, Adidas Ultra Boost, Yeezy, and Adidas NMD. Anton Ponomarenko, another sophomore from SLAS, said, “I don’t have a favorite brand I buy most of the sneakers online from Fight Club or Stadium goods, and I also buysome of them from the UK resell stores.” His top three choices of shoes are: Air Jordan IV retro “Hornets”, Air Jordan II Retro low closing ceremony, and Adidas NMD PK triple white. He also added, “The main criteria’s for the shoes that I buy are the style of the shoe and choice ofcolor. I think the shoes’ functionally and practicalities are important too; for example Boost technology from Adidas is much more comfortable than the Air technology from Nike. Students in SLAS have all kinds of different choices of their own shoes. For instance, most of the shoes that Jack and Anton buy are athletic shoes. People get into shoes for a variety of reasons, including fashion, sports, and collecting. Nevertheless, buying too many shoes can cause people to become addicted to shoes collection despite developing a unique style of fashion. As Michael Jordan claimed, “It’s not about the shoes, it’s about what you do in them.”
