SLAS TIMES showcases student life!
Hello Everybody!
We are the students from the Journalism class at Shanghai Livingston American
School. It's our honor to show you our first issue of the SLAS TIMES, your student
made publication. It's a lot of work to make this magazine happen but it is well
worth the effort. For this issue, we were able to cover an event (the Back to
School Bash) and also fill the pages with articles, interviews and op-eds. We
hope you enjoy it!
Ashim Saptoka wrote about the school elections that happened this fall. He
was able to interview newly elected President Jae Park and VP Annie Liu.
Patrick Nam got into looking deeper at AP classes and the students who take
these challenging courses. What did he find? Read to find out!
Jin Hyuk Choi conducted an interviewed with one of the most popular
teachers at SLAS, Ms Martin!
Joe Wu covered the recent book fair held on our campus. Joe, an avid reader
himself interviewed the organizer and got their viewpoint.
Hong An, a new student to our school, wrote about his experience and the
experience of new students coming to our school.
Peter Lee went out and spoke with students about the uniform policy. He was
able to get both supportive and opposed viewpoints and his article reflects
this balance.
Tsubasa Kazari has a great interest in sports and for this article he was able to
write about the SLAS volleyball teams.
Jack Yuan has taken an interest in how our school operates. In his article, Jack
was able to interview Mr. Lamb, our new administrative staff member.
Jonason Zhang is passionate about basketball and is a member of the SLAS
team. For his article, Jonason previewed the fast approaching season.
Howard Yan, the calm voice of serenity, writes about the real side to AP
classes, focusing on telling his readers about the truth behind the piles of
homework.
