strophotographer
Carl Bernhardt captured this image of the river of stars that define our own Milky Way Galaxy as they flow over Tenaya Lake in Yosemite National Park in California . The beautiful astrophotograph , which also showcases a meteor as it streaks over the lake leaving behind a fleeting trail in the sky that is reflected in the placid water , won first place in the recent Meteor Astrophotography Contest hosted by the Explore Alliance . To get the image , Bernhardt used a Pentax K1 Camera and a 15-30 mm F2.8 DFA lens . The single exposure was processed using Lightroom .
