Total Solar Eclipse on December 14th , 2020
The total solar eclipse on December 14th , 2020 will be visible from Chile and Argentina . Due to the problems with the covid-19 it is not expected that there will be a large number of eclipse lovers moving from their countries to Chile or Argentina to observe the eclipse . The greatest eclipse will happen at 16:14h . Alejandro Olás , director of the Observatory Wilka Wara , lives in Tucumán , a province located in the northwest of Argentina . He organized an event to observe the total eclipse in Argentina in 2019 . We did a brief interview with him about the observation of the total eclipse in Argentina in 2020 .
• Alejandro , despite the difficult times caused by Covid 19 , is there any preparation in Argentina for the observation of the eclipse ? So far there is nothing organized for the eclipse due to Covid 19 problems .
• What is the best location for observing the eclipse in Argentina ? The best place to observe the eclipse is in Las Grutas , a town located in the province of Río Negro . I know that in this city they have the protocol to receive tourists , apparently each person will have to attend with paid personal insurance .
• Will you be organizing an activity to observe the eclipse ? If the infection situation improves , I will be able to attend the event and set up a Willka Wara stand in Las Grutas , we will identify ourselves as - WILLKA WARA - ECLIPSE 2020 .
