You may think that owning a small business and having your own private pilot’s license is enough for some. However, Phillip Lyons from Falcon UAV sensed an opportunity was beckoning and was looking for a change in direction. The potential growth of the UAV sector in its many forms spoke to his affection for aviation and after some consideration and planning Phillip made a move into the Drones as a Service (DaaS) business model.

From Melbourne, Australia, Phillip spends a lot of time now on farmland as he brings the world’s latest agricultural tool to the many farm owners who are embracing new technologies and exploring the value add they bring to the agricultural sector. It is not an easy step however to transition industries from being a marketing consultant to building and operating a UAV based aerial survey business in a field that is still discovering its potential.
