Skorch F INTERVIEW E AT U R E I can not change the world, but hope to have a little impact on some peoples ways of thinking. This all started when I didn’t felt accepted as a young girl in society because of my weight. “My mom had to look very hard for cute and cool clothes for me and my grandma always shortened my jeans, because I needed a grown woman size and therefore the pipes of the jeans were too long”. So as a kid I already felt unaccepted, I thinks this is not a good thing. As I grew up I only realized more how different from the image I was. “We as (young) women are constantly surrounded by images of ourselves, but in better versions. We see how we should act and how we should look, but mostly what we should change about ourselves.” I see it as my job to change something about this, I can not change the world, but hope to have a little impact on some peoples ways of thinking. And make sure that there will be more women who can love their selves and embrace their selves for who they are. In America this is already a big movement, but here in Holland it is still a little taboo.. So here is where the big change needs too be made for me as a dutch curved woman. S
