Because I love my body, I now realize that it wasn’ t that there was anything wrong with it other than the stigma associated with fatness.

“ I love my body because it is political. Because in a world where my fat means I’ m lazy, ugly, unmotivated, unhealthy, a constant work in progress, saying I am enough, I am good, I am valuable is radical. I love my body because it makes everyone question their own fear of fat and seek to understand how that fear affects their life. I love my body because it allows me to experience unreserved, unapologetic joy. I lived for too long with the fear of bringing attention to my fat and therefore myself. I hid and I stopped experiencing all that life could offer me because I didn’ t feel like I deserved it and I felt as if my body would affect my experience.”

“ Because I love my body, I now realize that it wasn’ t that there was anything wrong with it other than the stigma associated with fatness. When I love my body, that stigma no longer rules my life and I’ m able to experience the fullness of life and live in the moment without caring what other people may be thinking. I love my body because there really is no reason not to.” S
