Skin Health Magazine Issue #9 / Autumn-Winter 2018 | Page 4

EDITOR’S LETTER E very issue we talk about skin concerns, how to avoid these issues in the first place, and the skin care products to tackle the skin concerns we can’t avoid. Something we’ve never talked about before (and I’m sooo excited to introduce this to you!) are the tools to help us make better use of those products: accessories! Many products are not so easy to apply — some masks in particular can be a little messier than they look. Having the right accessory can enhance the efficacy of a single product or help to eliminate the quirky little annoyances that you may have thought were inevitable. For example, did you know you don’t have to get get stray strands of hair stuck in your serum as you massage it into your forehead? And messy drips can be avoided? In fact, I think once you’ve applied a charcoal mask without getting black smears on the collar of your favourite pyjamas, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without Skincity’s The Mask Brush. This issue is also our last before Christmas, and we are getting in the mood to celebrate! While you may think October feels early to start think- ing about the festive period, we say: “That’s why you were dashing around like mad last year!” Our Mind & Wellbeing column breaks down what you can start doing now to ensure an organised, relaxing and magical December. Speaking of festive, we suspect you’ll be attend- ing more social events than usual. We of course want you to eat, drink and be merry, but we certainly don’t want your skin to suffer. So check out the two party-themed articles by our con- tributor, Shari Shallard, to help you make skin- friendly choices before, during and after your nights out. The holiday season can also bring cold, harsh weather. Take time to read about dry skin fixes from our Beauty Editor, Danielle Hadley, to make sure your hands and lips are hydrated and soft for all those New Year’s Eve hugs and kisses. Until next year, all of us at Skin Health Magazine wish you a happy, healthy and radiant festive season. Happy reading!
