C EDITOR’S LETTER hristmas is just around the corner. But before then, we’ve got Hal- loween and 5th November cele- brations to look forward to. That’s a lot of outdoor activities in cold, damp weather, and that kind of exposure can wreak havoc on your skin. To help keep your cheeks rosy without the dryness, we’re giving you some great tips and advice on keeping your skin plump and hydrated. We look at the benefits of sheet masks for extra hydration, and examine the importance of drinking water in Winter rather than your go-to cup of coffee or tea. For the one in two of us that suffer from some degree of adult acne, the cold weather can also cause unwanted flare- ups. Just when you felt like you had your skin under control and breakouts were down to a minimum, the temperature drops and your skin starts to react. We’ve put together a handy guide to acne which should help you diagnose the type you have, what causes it, and what you can do to help soothe or get rid of it completely. In the run-up to party season, more and more of us are considering an in-clinic treatment or procedure. If you’re new to the world of aesthetic treatments, or simply looking for a new treatment to try out, we ask our resident aesthetic nurse, Yvonne Senior, some probing questions about what treatments can give us instant gratification, and what to do if we react to a new treatment. And finally, our contributing writer, Shari Shallard, has been experimenting with a DCL New World Collection serum to find out if one product really can change your skin. Get the full account of Shari’s experience over on page 30. Once you’ve read it, we think you just might fall in love with this wonder serum! Enjoy the holiday season, and have a wonderful new year. Here’s to a prosperous 2018! HELEN ELLDRED EDITOR-IN-CHIEF [email protected] ISSUE #05 | 2017 | SkinHealthMagazine.com 4
