a determined effort to drink an adequate
amount of water is very important. When a
person chooses water to replace caffeine and
alcohol, the results are amazing.”
6. Drink in style
“Let’s face it, drinking an adequate amount of
water daily can be a challenge. Splurge a little
on a new fabulous drinking container. Choices
abound!” [We found some super cute bottles at mybkr.
co.uk and 24bottles.com.]
2. Get your mouse involved
“If you tend to get busy during the day and
forget to drink, set a large bottle of water on
your desk close to your mouse. Then you will
be forced to look at it throughout the day and
think to drink.”
3. Flavour your water
“At our spa, we wanted to determine how we
could affect the sense of taste in association
with our spa treatments. We use DoTERRA
food-grade therapeutic essential oils — we bring
each guest a glass of water with their corre-
sponding essential oil after every treatment. If
you use essential oils — particularly citrus oils
— to flavour your bottled water, remember to
use glass or metal bottles for best results.”
4. App it
“There are several apps online to remind you
to drink your water. I recently downloaded one
called ‘Water Tracker.’ You set your daily goal
and can even edit your reminder times during
the day.”
5. Swap the brew for a hot lemon water
“The dehydrating effect of caffeine and alcohol
on our bodies is often underestimated. Making
bother when offered anything. But now I let
my skin answer that question, and my skin
always says: ‘a glass of water would be much
appreciated, thank you for asking.’”
It’s worth mentioning that hydration comes
from the outside too. This includes using gentle
cleansers, moisturising products and exfoliators
as necessary. And if your dry Winter skin per-
sists, check your environment. Donna recalls
a client whose dry heat from her central heating
system was noticeably dehydrating her skin.
In addition to drinking water and taking care
with her product choices, this guest took
Donna’s advice to add a humidifier to her
bedroom — and voila: “After putting all of
these different pieces together,” says Donna,
“she was on her way to beautifully balanced
and hydrated skin.”
But remember, your cheapest, easiest and quick-
est tool may be just a tap away.
