EDITOR’S LETTER
S
ummer’s here! This has to be my
favourite time of year. After six
months of knee high boots and
knitwear it’s finally time to bring out the
strappy sandals and sunglasses, and make
those important changes to our skincare
routines. The all-important SPF makes a
strong appearance this season and in this
issue we tackle the matter of adapting our
sun protection to the occasion, in our
‘Meet Your Sunscreen Wardrobe’ article.
The topic of ageing headlines our Summer
issue as we pinpoint key areas of the body
that age the quickest, and look at ways of
combating this. The question of exfolia-
tion is explored too, as our Health &
Beauty Editor, Danielle Hadley, takes a
more in-depth look at the benefits of
chemical versus physical exfoliators, and
delves into the best ways to exfoliate the
skin. Danielle also gives us a very person-
al and honest account of her sugar con-
sumption, and how this really affects the
skin’s ageing process.
As the weather hots up we naturally start
to drink more water, but should we be
drinking the recommended eight glasses
a day, or is there no real benefit to our
skin? We speak to two dermatologists
from New York City who shed light on
the truth behind water and skin health,
and share some tips of their own on how
much water is the optimum amount for
glowing skin.
And finally, if you’re tired of being told
you look tired, our columnist, Shari Shal-
lard, takes a look at some easy steps you
can try to help alleviate fatigue, and stop
these comments once and for all.
As always, your comments and feedback
are important to us, so please send your
suggestions and questions through to me
at [email protected].
Enjoy your Summmer!
