Get out the eyelash curlers . Accentuating those sweet little lashes will make your eyes look brighter and more open .
Trace something nude on your lower lash line . This is not the place for anything dark . Eyeliner is great for offsetting any redness in your eyes , if you go with a natural flesh colour .
Add some colour to your eyelids . Start with your normal black or brown liner , applied close to the lash line , then run over it with a pop of colour . The goal here is drawing attention away from those circles under your eyes ( another reason for using nude liner on the lower lash line !).
Choose a navy mascara — it makes the whites of your eyes a bit brighter than your usual brown or black wand does .
Step 4 . Take On the Dark Circles Despite the above efforts to distract onlookers from those circles , they can ’ t be ignored entirely . Put on your artist beret and follow this process :
Start with a colour corrector to neutralise those blue and purple undertones in the skin . Blend in with your finger for a natural finish .
Next , break out the concealer — one that is one shade lighter than your skin tone — to create a brighter , more even eye contour . Hint : apply it in an upside-down triangle shape for the most flattering lift .
Finally , set with a little translucent powder to prevent creasing and to keep coverage in place all day .
Step 5 . Go Easy on Your Lips . You may hope that a bright and flashy kisser will offset the sleepy look in your eyes , but the opposite is true . A strong red is likely to accentuate whatever else is going on around it . Choose a discreet hue for your most tired days — something just a few shades deeper than your natural colour . Some gloss , of course , is always a nice touch .
