Most of us have a clear picture of what our dream home should look
like, but it is important to know the difference between a want and a
need, especially for a first-time homebuyer. You may want that double-car garage and extra ensuite bathroom, but are they really a necessity? What can you live with or without?

What can you afford?
Finally, ask yourself how much you really want to spend on a home, including the initial down payment and monthly mortgage payments. Talk
to your banker about what will work in your budget.
