The Courage
To Succeed
Stories to
inspire courage
ver the past year, I have had the privilege of reading
countless astounding stories of migrants from all around
the world, and I have discovered one unquestionable
commonality – strength. Each and every story has highlighted an unsurpassed determination to succeed, and
an unwavering commitment to beating the odds. No
matter the barriers – language or culture – these stories
are evident that migrants coming to Australia can overcome them and thrive. The articles within this edition are no exception to
this truth, and I invite you to take a moment out of your day and meet
some truly inspiring migrants.
In A Courage Leap on page 18, we meet two migrants who decided to
take a gamble on themselves at a chance for something better. At just 20
years old, Anthony Kirby moved from the UK with $200, a suitcase and
a head full of dreams. Since then, he has worked his way up the real estate ranks, before deciding to go it alone. Anthony now runs a successful
business helping entrepreneurs and business owners unlock sustainable
growth.
Wilson Casado shares a similar story of leaving a familiar life and venturing into the unknown. He and his wife decided to develop their careers
internationally and made the move to Australia. After being offered a job
at BHP Billiton in Perth, Wilson settled into his new life with his family and
eventually decided to start his own consulting firm. Since then, his firm has
been recognised by the WA professional community as a company leader
