SIERRA NEVADA, SPAIN
"SUN AND
SKI PARADISE"
18 | EUROPE
If you’re looking for a guarantee of snow and sunshine
then you should probably head to the place often
referred to as the “Sunniest Ski Resort in Europe.”
The resort sits almost entirely above the treeline, so it’s
easy to get around on wide slopes that climb to 3300
metres and claim that you’ve skied the whole mountain.
The Spanish tradition of siesta is still a large part of local
life, so you and your students might just be the only ones
on the slopes in the middle of the afternoon.
Did YoU KNOW?
As the highest southernmost ski resort in Spain
and within view of the Mediterranean Sea and
North Africa (on a clear day, of course), Sierra
Nevada gets plenty of sun to go along with its
healthy heaping of snow.
