What is the skeletal system?

Made up of 206 bones, the skeletal system protects our organs, supports our body, stores minerals and chemical energy, while at the same time produces blood cells.

How does it do all that?

It protects by covering

essential organs, it produces blood cells because bones are filled with red marrow which produces red and white blood cells.

It stores minerals because bones tissue store minerals such as calcium and phosphorus, which later are released to the blood.
