interview with Mike Moreau
One of the great things of ArtPrint is that produce boards even for skate shops!
Nowadays the trend of the skateshops in not more to have own t-shirts or stickers,
but now must advertise the store with the boards and your company is ready to
prepare graphics for each type of skate shop. How this collaboration works..the
minimum order etc.?
ArtPrint stays very flexible about the minimum quantity to let the possibility to
anyone to make his own boards. Each demand is quite different and unique
so we do our best to answer all the needs. Being versatile is really important in
our business. Now every skate shops can make their boards and as I say on my
email signature: ''If you don't make any shop decks now then you're not really a
skateshop!’’
ArtPrint collaborates with a large number of skateboards companies from small to
big ones.
Can you reveal some names of major brands who work with you
We work with a lot of different compagnies from little crews to big brands in about
20 different countries all over Europe. I could tell some big labels we're working for
but most of them prefer me to keep discreet actually for so many reasons. The big
brands probably want to keep their source!
What has been your most memorable collaboration project to date and why?
I have a couple of memorable collaborations.... It will be pretty hectic to extract just
one of it but first of all I remember the exhibitions we did a couple of years ago
with the huge wall of 50 boards with a photographic patchwork. It was a Collab
between ArtPrint and Bertrand Trichet from Carhartt. Also a couple of projects for
famous Art galleries. We also do a lot of great Arty boards for ''BOOM ART'' which is
a friend.
Do you have a favourite deck graphic?
Yes I do. I have always been into Rock n' Roll graphic and old school stuffs like
skulls, zombies, dark and black n' white designs.... I'm really NOT into fashion cyanmagenta-yellow colors style. I'm sorry to my clients that make this but this is not my
flavor!
