interview with Mike Moreau Art Print manufacturer European skateboard Here you have the awesome interview with Mike Moreau , that is not only a French skater he’s one of the founders of one the most famous european skateboards manufacturer. You have no excuses , if you are on this page right now you must read the whole interview ;) First of all could you tell us how ArtPrint started, a bit of the history ... Well Loic and I were working for a tee shirts screenprinting company for a while and one day of the early year 2001 we tried to print a board or two just to see how it looked like as long time skateboarders and it was a dream to be able to print some boards even just for us and friends at the start. Obviously the first couple of boards were ruined and fucked up but we didn’t discourage :) !! So we clung on that idea to print boards specially because at that time in 2001 nobody printed skateboards in Europe and we were really into skateboards which was our main passion since we are 12 years old... It’s been first a long hard work before we develop different kinds of process from very basic flexible screens until our digital printing method that we set up in 2005 to produce photo print boards even in small quantity! This was definitely something NEW in the skateboard business and we started to be famous in Europe thanks to it! We a lot have used that technic for different exhibitions and collabs with artists and photographers, for skateshops and labels too. All our boards are now screenprinted with no limitation on colors or even photoprint from only 20 decks per design which is very flexible for anyone interested to make his own boards.
