Translating : My Passion
The aim of this research has been to translate an anime ’ s episode from English into Catalan . A difference between the research and the main information was established and the work was done in two parts . On the one hand ; anime origins , economy , characteristics and its current situation in the world . On the other hand ; the fansubs and the used programs . Finishing with the translation .
The discovered things were the anime ancient origins , its genres , its ups and downs and its poor situation in Catalonia . The difficult parts of the translation were the literalisms , the copy of grammar structures , Spanish interferences and the good use of weak pronouns , synonyms and popular language . To finish , the Japanese honorifics and some aspects of their culture .
The idea is to invigorate the Catalan language and diffuse the anime culture as well as adapting it to make the viewers understand it .
