La dona tatuada
by Laia Vidal Escòlies
This is the book that puts you right inside
the Spanish Civil War in Barcelona.
However, I’m less interested in military
matters than in how the woman copes
with the war. It’s not the usual novel with
a linear structure, it changes form present
to past constantly, and that’s how it
catches your attention.

Think of a Number
by John Verdon
It’s a psychological thriller that catches
your attention so much that you could
finish its 414 pages in less than a week.
The level of detail is such as to get you
stuck in detective David Gurney’s life,
almost as if you were himself. I would
totally recommend it because Think of a
Number is a breath-taking John Verdon’s
masterpiece.
