JOINING THE WINCHESTER COMMUNITY
Upon joining Winchester College, Sixth Form pupils will be warmly welcomed into one of the school’ s boarding houses. Boys will join one of our existing houses, whilst girls starting from September 2026 will join one of the brand-new girls’ boarding houses. Whether you’ re a boarder or a day pupil, your house will be a home away from home; it will be where you eat your meals, and it will also act as a place for study and socialising with friends.
WELCOMING GIRL BOARDERS FROM 2026
In September 2026, girl boarders will join the College for the first time in its history, in one of two new boarding houses situated on St Cross Road. The second house will open in September 2027. In time, each boarding house will be home to up to 80 girls, including 60 boarders and 20 day girls.
The new houses are currently under construction, however, comprehensive details on each house are available for prospective families. It will also be possible to see parts of the first house ahead of its completion in 2026.
