REVIEW
Surpassing safety expectations
Subaru takes home a “Top Safety Pick” GOLD Award from the IIHS
(Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) for the 2006 Impreza. We
couldn’t be happier, especially since it’s one of only three vehicles
in the automotive industry to receive this rating in the small size
category. In order to receive a GOLD designation, each vehicle must
earn “good” ratings (good being the highest rating) in the Institute’s
frontal offset, side-impact and rear-impact crash tests. “Every Subaru
is designed to offer the highest possible levels of active and passive
safety to both driver and passenger,” a commitment Katsuhiro
Yokoyama, President, Chairman and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc.
stands by. The foundation of Subaru’s passive safety (occupant
protection) stems from an advanced ring-shaped reinforcement
frame which helps to offer a 360 degree barrier of protection and
is exclusive to Subaru.
In addition to excellent occupant protection measured by the IIHS,
every Subaru is also equipped with the outstanding active safety of our
symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive System, which provides superior
traction and control even in the most challenging road conditions.
The 2006 Impreza was designed from the ground up to offer
best-in-class active and passive safety, providing driver confidence
and peace of mind whenever you decide to drive. No matter what
road or driving conditions you encounter along the way, safety is
one less thing you’ll need to be thinking about.
