WELCOME TO THE
Spring/Summer 2017 Issue of
SIX STAR
THE MAGAZINE FOR SUBARU OWNERS IN CANADA
W
elcome to a new issue celebrating the pursuit of an active
and adventurous life in this great country. This is a very
special for a few reasons, not the least of which is our celebration
of Canada’s 150 th anniversary.
Our cover image of the 2018 Subaru WRX in Ottawa helps to
introduce a story written by the man responsible for a year’s worth
of celebratory activities in our nation’s capital. While most people
will no doubt want to be in Ottawa on July 1, we learn from this article
that there are great reasons to visit this city at any time in 2017.
For this issue, we have taken a different approach to our
lifestyle-oriented articles; we have enlisted the help of 13 different
individuals, each with unique and personal experiences of the 13
different provinces and territories in Canada. Our contributors
include artists, athletes, musicians and professionals from various
walks of life; their impressions help to bring these provinces
and territories to life, as do the splendid images celebrating the
tremendous beauty of this country.
Of course, this issue also features stories specifically related to
the Subaru brand.
In our Subaru 360 news section, we have exciting news about
the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek and 2018 Subaru Outback. We have a
number of awards to announce, including those related to residual
value and safety. We also learn about an incredibly exciting, brand
new model that’s set to appear in Subaru showrooms next year.
And we take the time to celebrate the Subaru Forester, which was
this year named the AJAC Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year.
We also have a technical brief outlining the differences between
the latest Impreza and the WRX and WRX STI. These three
vehicles are more distinct from each other than ever before, so
we produced this quick comparison to help readers gain a better
understanding.
In closing, this will be my last message to you as President of
Subaru Canada — I have been selected to move to another position
within the Subaru Global organization. I have thoroughly enjoyed
the past seven years I have spent in Canada and enjoyed being able
to share my passion for this brand with customers and Subaru
dealers from coast to coast. I consider this country to be my second
home and I look forward to returning soon.
Now, it is my sincere honour to pass the torch on to Mr. Yasushi
Enami, who rejoins Subaru Canada as President after working he re
years ago. He also has great affection for this country and we are
certain he is the perfect choice to continue the record of success we
have enjoyed here.
I wish you a lifetime of safe driving and great adventures.
Sayonara.
