We ended up leaving with two more dogs instead of just one.” Kylee describes the first two additions, Rollo and Mama, as mutts… but it’s definitely a term of endearment. Rollo is a 3-year-old cattle dog-pit bull mix with epilepsy and Mama is a 5-year-old black Labrador-German Shepherd mix. “Rollo is a very special boy, he loves everyone he meets and he reminds me to take care of the people I love,” Kylee says. “Mama is silly and crazy, but also the sweetest soul. She reminds me to be kind to everyone and to make them laugh.” Back when she only had the three dogs, Kylee owned a pick-up truck, which they used to go on camping and hiking trips. “We all fit, but not very comfortably,” she says. But then came Bandit. A 4-year-old Siberian Husky, Bandit was Blu’s brother and he needed a new home, so Kylee stepped up. “Bandit is very silly but stoic and he loves to play tug-of-war,” she says. “He reminds me to not take life seriously and to make the most of each day.” As soon as the wolf pack grew to four, that’s when Kylee realized that she needed a different vehicle. Enter the Blubaru. Since then, a fifth dog has arrived on the scene, 38 six star magazine a 3-month-old Husky-German Shepherd mix named Bilbo Waggins. “The Subaru and I are often on rescue dog transport duty and I was supposed to transport him for a rescue,” Kylee recounts. “But I fell in love when I saw him. He’s a super loving and crazy puppy that loves everyone he meets. He’s been the perfect addition to our crazy pack.” Kylee reports that the wolf pack’s favourite activities including hiking, swimming, canoeing, road trips and anything else that involves being all together in the great outdoors! “We are super-blessed to live the life we do,” she says. “I’ve always loved animals, so it’s only fitting that I have the number of dogs that I have now. Our goal is to travel across Canada with all five dogs. We just need to save up more money!” So if you happen to find yourself in northern BC—or, in fact, anywhere—keep your eyes peeled for five dogs riding shotgun in the Impreza nicknamed Blubaru.
