The artist San Murata paints the landscapes and street scenes that surround him , wherever he may be . More often than not , he can be found in one of his two homes — in the countryside of Northumberland County , east of Toronto , or in his native Japan , a refuge for whenever Canadian winters hit too hard . San also plays jazz violin at every opportunity with some of the best musicians on the Canadian jazz scene .
