WHY SIX STAR? PHOTOGRAPHY
The word “Subaru” has two meanings: the first translates into English as “gather together” and the second is the
Japanese name for Pleiades, the star cluster in the Taurus constellation. This formation is also called mutsuraboshi,
the Japanese word for “six stars” and appears in very old documents. When Subaru Global (originally known as
Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd.) was incorporated in 1953, it merged together five leading Japanese manufacturing
companies and the automotive division called Subaru was eventually given the now-familiar six-star logo. BENOIT BRÜHMULLER;
