What are the best parts about becoming such a strong female
role model yourself?
I’ve never really seen myself as a role model, or sought to be one.
But I guess the best thing that I have experienced is being able to
connect with young girls and help them feel confident in pursuing
their passions. And showing them that doesn’t have to be the same
thing all their friends may be passionate about.
You’re not going to please everyone, so for sure you do open
yourself up to negativity as well. This can be hard to deal with when
most of the time the negativity is based on something untrue, an
inaccurate interpretation, or not the full story. However, rallying is
a tough sport to succeed in no matter if you are a man or a woman, so
it’s certainly not the toughest hurdle you’ll face!
In the off-season, describe what your best day looks like.
Definitely something outdoors. I live near the beach in Sydney, so
I would say it would start with either a morning run or a nice walk
along the coast. We also have lots of amazing cafes around here,
so I’d finish with a nice breakfast. I love to go waterskiing or jet
skiing, but don’t get many opportunities, so a day of activities like
that would make me very happy! A nice chill BBQ to finish the day
would be perfect.
