TSC HYPERMEET STEPS ON THE GAS Fourteen years ago, the very first Toronto Subaru Club HyperMeet took place, the event drawing about 20 vehicles, according to Ted Lalka,Vice President, Product Management, Marketing & Customer Experience at Subaru Canada. This year, the annual event attracted some 850 Subaru vehicles of all stripes and some 1,400 individual enthusiasts. This was the first year that HyperMeet was not held at Subaru Canada headquarters, shifting instead to the 5 Drive-In movie theatre in Oakville, Ontario. The larger venue represented the perfect setting for the massive turnout of Subies and their devoted followers. This year’s HyperMeet featured product booths, merchandise stands, and plenty of fun activities for enthusiasts of all ages. The event also featured the Subaru Rally Team Canada WRX STI, along with driver Antoine L’Estage and co-driver Alan Ockwell greeting fans and signing autographs. “[It] feels great to be here at HyperMeet—it’s awesome to meet a wide range of Subaru enthusiasts,” said Ockwell. “Everyone from people in the rally community to the show ‘n shine [community], there’s a huge passion for Subaru and it’s amazing to see how people express that passion in different ways.” Each year, TSC HyperMeet raises money for Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada with all the proceeds being matched, dollar-for-dollar, by Subaru Canada. 6 six star magazine
