CASSANDRA CATTON
At Subaru, we have fans … and then we have superfans. We consider Cassandra Catton to be in the latter category. While going to school in Toronto, Cassandra and her 2012 Subaru Forester were very active at local Toronto Subaru Club meets and events, including the annual HyperMeet.
The Subaru club community brought a welcoming group of people into her life. In fact, a shared love of Subaru was actually how Cassandra and her boyfriend, Corey Budgell, met.( He’ s the proud owner of a 2005 Subaru WRX.)
When the couple moved to Newfoundland last summer, her beloved Forester was packed full to the roof racks with everything they needed to make their new home. Her contest photo was taken during this epic trip capturing the wharf in Harry’ s Harbour, Newfoundland.
During the # LookingGoodCanada Contest, Cassandra had Subaru clubs all over the world voting for this image— the club from Singapore even made her an honorary member!
WESTERN CANADA
ALEXANDRA KINGSCOT
When Alexandra Kingscot and her boyfriend, Calin Yablonski, packed up their brand new Subaru Forester with all the essentials needed to enjoy the great outdoors, they didn’ t imagine they would win a contest along the way.
With their vehicle only days old, they headed out to their favourite vantage points. After great days of picnicking and lounging by Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park, the couple would pop the back of their Forester open to lay back and take in the breathtaking views in true Subaru style. The winning image captures one of those magical moments.
QUEBEC
GRIGOR GARABEDIAN
When the Garabedian family headed east from Quebec to explore Nova Scotia, they captured this winning image of Boar’ s Head Lighthouse in Digby, which overlooks the Bay of Fundy. The family took a small ferry to the island and reached the lighthouse at the end of a rugged side-road, which their Subaru Forester handled with ease.
Although contest voters universally agreed that this image was magnificent, we were told that the Garabedian kids were more excited about collecting rocks from the ground than enjoying the view!
Their road trip to Nova Scotia entailed packing up their Subaru Forester with their camping gear, hitting the road with a short list of must-see places given to them by friends; the rest, they discovered while driving along the coast. They camped at the amazing Cape Breton Highlands National Park, drove the breathtaking Cabot Trail, and pitched their tent every night at a different location overlooking the water to enjoy the changing tides and the scenic views.
