EMMA NISHIMURA

Emma Nishimura is a Toronto-
based artist whose work explores
family stories and narratives
rooted in the Japanese Canadian
experience. She received her
Bachelor of Arts from the
University of Guelph and her
Master of Fine Arts from the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Her work is in public and private
collections, and has been exhibited
nationally and internationally.
She teaches at the University of
Guelph, OCAD University and
Sheridan College.
Emma’s work takes many
forms and every piece is elegant
in its visual beauty and complex
