We are committed to developing well-rounded individuals , who leave Sir John Deane ’ s confident in their own ability having faced and met new challenges . The college ' s thriving Duke of Edinburgh ' s Award programme enables students to develop their physical skills , knowledge , leadership and teamwork . Students demonstrate perseverance , resilience and determination to complete a range of challenges and expeditions and are supported every step of the way by our dedicated Duke of Edinburgh ' s Award co-ordinator . Each year more than hundred students are successful in gaining their Gold or Silver Awards .
